Farewell President Bush; Hello Disaster

President Bush’s successes include keeping our nation safe since 911, keeping our economy afloat despite the 911 disaster and a recession he inherited from Clinton, preventing babies from being harvested for federally funded stem cell research, giving us two excellent pro-life justices, winning an incredibly difficult war in Iraq despite an onslaught of negativity by the press and the ill-willed Democrats, and establishing a fledgling democracy in a muslim country.

His failures? 1) Bad PR, 2) being too nice to the Democrats , 3) failing to keep the RINO’s in line, 4) spending too much and growing government (e.g., prescription drug program) (which spending tendency I relate back to #2 and #3), 5) Failing to succeed in beating back the Dems in propping up Fannie and Freddie Mac, and 6) failing to pressure the FED into keep interests rates high and the punch bowl away. Despite those, however, I think the successes far outweigh his failures and history will find that he kept our Country from the abyss for 8 years (only to have it plunge into it immediately thereafter!).

Now comes Obama who will be nothing but a disaster for the United States. He’s promises to be the most pro-abortion president in history and the most devastating to our economy. Just one of his initiatives, Universal Healthcare will be a disastrous entitlement program that will be impossible to put back in the bottle and will surely destroy the economic engine that is the United States, setting up unfunded multi-trillion dollar liabilities for years to come which will require either extreme inflation or confiscatory taxes (and my best guess both), while guaranteeing the government will be the sole arbitrator of health care, making abortion a funded entitlement and euthanasia/assisted suicide the encouraged solution to our aging population problem (created by our abortion problem!).

This is a good editorial from NRLC and fairly reflects my thoughts on the Inauguration.

I wish nothing but failure for Obama’s initiatives. The only thing I’m praying for is an Oval Office conversion, and that I’ll be able to build my fall-out shelter very deep before the terrorists (including Russia, N. Korea, and Iran) take advantage of Obama’s foreign policy weakness and naivete. But I don’t think I will have that much time.
